Collection: Albert Racinet

Albert Charles Auguste Racinet (20th July 1825 to 29th October 1893) was a French artist, designer lithographer and art historian. He will be best remembered for two seminal works: L'Ornement polychrome and Le Costume Historique.

He studied at the School of Design of the City of Paris and exhibited his painting at the Salons from 1849 to 1874. His work was influenced by ancient manuscripts from The National Library of France.
