Collection: Eastman Johnson

Jonathan Eastman Johnson (July 29, 1824 – April 5, 1906) was an American painter and co-founder of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

While his early sketches draw influence from him time spent working in Boston as a lithographer, Johnson's later realistic style is heavily iInfluenced by his love of the 17th-century Dutch and Flemish masters.
